Henrietta Township has a waste collection facility
located on the East side
of M-106 just North of Kennedy/Berry roads.
This facility is open on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
and accepts household waste, building materials, metal and separated
items for recycling.
Recycling materials accepted include:
- Plastic Bottles
- Plastic Bags
- Styrofoam Items/li>
- Aluminum and Steel Cans
- Glass Bottles and Jars
- News Papers
- Cardboard Products
Plastic materials suitable for recycling have a code block
cast into the material. This code indicates which materials can be recycled.
Typically plastic lids cannot be recycled and should not be included. Milk jugs tops,
mustard lids, catsup lids and many similar types are not acceptable. Yoghurt and
Cottage Cheese type lids are acceptable if so marked.
The codes for plastic recyclables are available here.
We hope that you will help keep our township
tidy and at the same time, recycle those materials which can be
reprocessed. Every little bit helps and when all totaled together,
it becomes an enormous amount of
material not going into land fills. Just drive out McGill Rd. and
look at the hills formed by the landfill, the vent pipes sticking out
to allow dangerous gasses to escape and the surrounding low lying marsh
areas which are most likely contaminated with materials leached from the
fill. You will think twice about sending all your trash to the landfill.
